Fraudsters manipulate caller ID to display a bank’s name and number, claim suspicious account activity and request passwords or verification codes. Some tell victims to cut up cards and hand them to a courier, who can still exploit the intact chip.

Offenders call victims pretending to investigate fraudulent card use and then instruct them to leave damaged bank cards for collection. Police stress that authorities do not retrieve cards this way and that the chip may remain usable.

How can I report an inappropriate comment?
Every user can deactivate any comment until the moderators deal with it. Just click the Delete button in the menu found at each comment. The user is then redirected to a short form where they can explain to moderators why they believe the comment is harmful. Processing of this request usually takes about a week. Then the user is informed about how the moderators dealt with the comment.
